House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is suggesting President Donald Trump is not always quick to ask for advice from medical professionals amid the coronavirus pandemic.

During her press conference on Thursday, Pelosi argued the president has made several bad executive decisions and expressed her frustration with how he has refused to adhere to the directions of scientists.

“Observing his behavior, I have concluded that he is like the man who refuses to ask for directions. All of the answers are there. The scientists have the answers,” Pelosi said.

She added, “We know that testing, tracing, treating, distancing, masking, sanitation can stop the spread of this virus. And yet the president continues to go down the wrong path and refuses to ask for directions from scientists who know better than any of us.”

Pelosi claimed there is a lack of testing equipment and personal protection equipment.

According to Pelosi, Trump has failed to use the Defense Production Act in efforts to reopen schools and the economy.

This is not the first time Pelosi has urged Trump to use the Defense Production Act to reopen schools, as IJR previously reported.

During an interview on MSNBC on Monday, Pelosi called on Trump to employ the act in order to provide enough testing equipment and personal protection equipment.

Pelosi slammed Trump for failing to act and called on other lawmakers to join the Democrats in passing the HEROES Act.

“This is such a massive dereliction of duty. People are dying,” Pelosi said.

She continued, “And so what we are saying to the Senate, join us in asking the president to use executive action for good instead of ill as he has done and pass the HEROES act.”

During an interview on CNN on Tuesday, Pelosi said she is willing to delay the August recess in order to come to an agreement on another coronavirus relief package, as IJR previously reported.
