Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) does not think President Joe Biden should shy away from his age.

During an appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Wednesday, Pelosi, 83, was asked about concerns regarding the president’s age.

“I think the president should embrace his age, his experience, the knowledge that he brings to the job,” the former speaker began.

She continued, “Actually, the leader on the other side is not that much younger — I don’t like to use his name, but you know who I mean –he’s not that much younger. So… age is a relative thing, it is. And I think this president, our country is very well-served by his leadership.”

Pelosi referenced former President Donald Trump, who would be 78 by the time of the 2024 election.

The California Democrat went on to tout what she said is Biden’s “record-breaking” time in office, and expressed her wish for him to address some “unfinished business.”

“I couldn’t be prouder of him, and again, we’re very fortunate that he is in that position,” she insisted.

She also recounted a time she spent in Los Angeles for “some Democratic stuff” where she interacted with someone who is 100 and another person who is in his 90s, who both brushed off Biden’s age.

“It’s relative. He’s younger than I am so he’s a kid to me,” Pelosi added.

Finally, she called questions about his age an “excuse.”

“And I think we just have to get on with this election, for the children, for the people,” Pelosi concluded.

Biden would be 86 at the end of a potential second term.

And he has faced persistent questions about his age as he gears up for his re-election campaign. Still, Biden told reporters in April he took a “hard look” at his age and determined he feels “good” about running again.
