A nationwide “See You at the Library” movement has led American families to book 260 library rooms across 44 states to host readings of Kirk Cameron’s faith-based book and other similar titles after public libraries denied him events, according to Fox News.

Cameron said this movement is “passing the baton to the people.”

He noted, “Conservatives and Christians have complained that they don’t have a seat at the cultural table,” and added that because of these events, “We have a seat now.”

“See You at the Library” is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 5. It is being organized by parents, grandparents, pastors, and community leaders and will host special guests.

Cameron disclosed he plans to travel to multiple libraries to attend.

This comes after Cameron was denied opportunities to host readings by multiple public libraries, per Fox News.

Last December, Cameron’s publisher and conservative children’s book company, Brave Books, detailed how libraries that supported drag queen story hour events denied Cameron’s requests to host reads to promote his faith-based title, “Pride Comes Before the Fall.”

Rhode Island’s Rochambeau Public Library turned Cameron down. One of the librarians told Brave Books, “We are a very queer-friendly library. Our messaging does not align.” The San Lorenzo Library in California, San Diego Library system, and Indianapolis Public Library also denied Cameron due to their focus on diversity initiatives.

Now, taxpayers are booking public library rooms and hosting their own events to share Cameron’s story and other faith-based titles.

Brave Books released an invitation on its website, stating, “On August 5, 2023, we are calling on all families who love God and love America to gather at our local public libraries to pray, sing, and read BRAVE Books and other books of virtue.”

It added, “Imagine thousands of local public libraries filled by you, your friends, your pastors, your teachers and your local representatives on this date.”
