A powerful east coast storm cut off power to over 100,000 Americans early Monday morning.

According to the New York Post, 55,000 people were without power in New York, 51,000 people lost power in New Jersey, and 82,000 suffered from outages in Connecticut.

Winds up to 55 mph accompanied the storm and a flood watch was issued to remain in effect throughout Monday until 6 p.m. in New York.

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul posted on X, formerly Twitter, about the storm early Monday, stating, “Heavy rain [and] high winds are continuing to impact the Hudson Valley, New York City, [and] Long Island.”
