Singer Oliver Anthony canceled his upcoming Tennessee show due to high-priced tickets.

The “Rich Men North of Richmond” singer/songwriter walked away from plans to perform at the “Cotton Eyed Joe” venue after the bar planned to charge $99 per ticket and $200 for adding a meet and greet, according to the New York Post.

He described the issue in an Instagram post where he stated, “Don’t buy $90 Cotton Eyed Joe tickets or $200 for a meet and greet. That’s not acceptable. Just saw the Facebook post and lost my shit.”

He noted this was due to a miscommunication and declared, “My shows should never cost more than $40, ideally no more than $25.”

“Hell, out of the 4 shows we have currently done, 2 of them have been completely free,” he added.

Anthony said, “Cotton Eyed Joe has been cancelled. I am so sorry about all of this. I will do better next time. We are still learning.”

In a Facebook post, Cotton Eyed Joe said Anthony charged them $120,000 to perform for one hour and prices were not discussed during negotiations. Anthony, however, refuted the claim. He said the most he’s made on a show was $35,000, according to the Post.

He then sent out another post where he and his friend Joey Davis smiled and updated everyone on venue plans.

He said, “$25 ticket prices on all upcoming shows, excluding the two that we already have scheduled (Poppy Mountain and Louder than Life.)”

Anthony also announced that every show will include a free meet and greet.

Anthony is known for his down-to-earth sound and personality. After becoming an overnight success, he turned down multiple industry deals and committed to connecting with people through relatable songs, per RSBN.

He revealed his set plans in the recent Instagram post noting, “Joey plays for 1 hour as an opener, we do 1.5 hours together, with an optional open mic for the locals at the end if time allows.”

“Sorry for all the drama I caused tonight. Thanks for understanding,” he concluded.
