Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine (R) is encouraging Americans to accept the election results and acknowledge President-elect Joe Biden as the winner.

“I think that we need to consider the former vice president as the president-elect. Joe Biden is the president-elect. The White House has every … the president and his campaign has every right to go into court,” DeWine said.

He added, “Our courts are open. Our courts are the best place, frankly, to adjudicate facts. I’m a former prosecutor. I’m a great believer in the ability to have your courts and go in to make a case and they have every right to do that.”

DeWine reminded Americans to trust the process.

“We just all need to take a deep breath. There is a process for all of this. You need to follow the process. And we need to move this country forward. I think the most important thing is that we come together as a country,” DeWine said.

President Donald Trump has refused to concede the election.

He has launched a series of lawsuits in several states.

On Wednesday, Trump filed a lawsuit in Michigan to keep the state from certifying the results, as IJR previously reported.

Georgia’s Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (R) announced the state will be recounting votes, as IJR previously reported.

“With a margin being so close, it will require a full by-hand recount in each county. This will help build confidence. It will be an audit, a recount, and a recanvass all at once. It will be a heavy lift,” Raffensperger said.

Several Republican governors have congratulated Biden including Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R), Massuchett’s Gov. Charlie Baker (R), and Vermont Gov. Phil Scott (R).

Biden said Trump’s unwillingness to concede is “an embarrassment” and it will “not help the president’s legacy.”
