Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) come from different parties and have sparred on various issues, and they have occasionally agreed on other topics.

But, after the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, Ocasio-Cortez has blasted Cruz for challenging electoral votes from states that former President Donald Trump lost in the presidential election.

On Thursday, the progressive star blasted the stock trading company Robinhood for restricting certain trades, which she said is “unacceptable.”

“As a member of the [Financial Services Committee], I’d support a hearing if necessary,” she added.

Cruz re-tweeted Ocasio-Cortez and said, “Fully agree.”

But the New York Congresswoman was apparently not appreciative of his comments. She fired back, “I am happy to work with Republicans on this issue where there’s common ground, but you almost had me murdered 3 weeks ago so you can sit this one out. Happy to work [with] almost any other GOP that aren’t trying to get me killed.”

“In the meantime if you want to help, you can resign,” she said.

“While you conveniently talk about ‘moving on,’ a second Capitol police officer lost their life yesterday in the still-raging aftermath of the attacks you had a role in. This isn’t a joke. We need accountability, and that includes a new Senator from Texas.”

Finally, she said, “You haven’t even apologized for the serious physical [and] mental harm you contributed to from Capitol Police [and] custodial workers to your own fellow members of Congress. In the meantime, you can get off my timeline [and] stop clout-chasing. Thanks. Happy to work with other GOP on this.”

Happy to work with other GOP on this.

According to a pool report, Cruz responded to Ocasio-Cortez as he said, “You know, there’s a lot of partisan anger and rage on the Democratic side. It’s, it’s not healthy for our country, it’s certainly not conducive of healing or unity, but everyone has to decide how they want to interact with others.”

After the riot at the Capitol, Ocasio-Cortez demanded that Cruz “accept responsibility for how your craven, self-serving actions contributed to the deaths of four people yesterday.”

She also said he should resign or be expelled from the chamber.
