Former President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden are teaming up in a new conversation, where they discuss the current administration’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic.

In a minute-long clip teased on Wednesday by Biden’s campaign, Biden and Obama are seen showing up to the meeting in masks and socially distanced as they are seated further apart.

In the clip, Biden starts out by saying, “Can you imagine standing up when you were president and saying ‘it’s not my responsibility. I take no responsibility.’ Literally. Literally.”

“Those words didn’t come out of our mouths when we were in office,” Obama answered to Biden’s remark.

Biden continued to take a swing at President Donald Trump’s handling of the outbreak, “No. I don’t understand his inability to get a sense of what people are going through. He can’t relate in any way.”

Obama responded in praise of Biden, “Well, and one of the things I have always known about you Joe, it’s the reason I wanted you to be my vice president, and the reason why you were so effective … it all starts with being able to relate.”

The full video of their conversation is expected to be released on Thursday.

In a previous tweet, Obama has urged against people politicizing the pandemic, as IJR reported.

“The latest data offers a tragic reminder that the virus doesn’t care about spin or ideology––and that the best thing we can do for our economy is to deal with our public health crisis,” Obama tweeted on July 15.

Obama officially endorsed Biden for president on April 14, where he said, “Our country’s future hangs on this election, and it won’t be easy.”
