New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) sent a message to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) ahead of former President Donald Trump’s arraignment.

During a news conference Monday, Adams said, “People like Marjorie Taylor Greene, who is known to spread misinformation and hate speech, she stated she’s coming to town.”

He added, “While you’re in town, be on your best behavior.”

Adams stressed the city would “not allow violence or vandalism of any kind. If one is caught participating in any act of violence, they will be arrested and held accountable.”

Greene took to Twitter last week to share her plans for Trump’s arraignment, IJR reported.

“I’m going to New York on Tuesday. We MUST protest the unconstitutional WITCH HUNT!” she wrote.

Adams’ press conference came ahead of other possible protests.

He told individuals, “Control yourselves.”

Adams argued, “New York City is our home, not a playground for your misplaced anger. We are the safest large city in America because we respect the rule of law in New York City.”

NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell said during the briefing there are “no credible or specific threats to New York City at this time.”

He continued, “New Yorkers may see an increased police presence in parts of the city and should anticipate intermittent road closures over the next few days, particularly in Manhattan. To avoid delays, I too urge everyone to use mass transit when possible.”

Trump is expected to arrive for his arraignment Tuesday after being indicted by a Manhattan grand jury last week.

The former president currently faces more than 30 counts related to business fraud, per CNN.

Trump lawyer Joe Tacopina spoke with CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday, saying, “Obviously, this is different. This has never happened before. I have never had Secret Service involved in an arraignment before at 100 Centre St.”

He added, “All the Tuesday stuff is still very much up in the air, other than the fact that we will very loudly and proudly say not guilty.”
