Republican presidential candiate Nikki Haley mocked the Senate following Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s (R-Ky.) freezing incident.

In an interview with Fox News on Thursday, Haley, 51, was asked about McConnell, 81, after he froze for a second time while addressing the press during an event for the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce on Aug. 30

“It’s sad,” she said. “No one should feel good about seeing that any more than we should feel good about seeing Dianne Feinstein, any more than we should feel good about a lot of what’s happening or seeing Joe Biden’s decline.”

Haley continued, “What I will say is, right now, the Senate is the most privileged nursing home in the country.”

However, she praised McConnell for some of the “great things” he has done and said he “deserves credit.”

“But you have to know when to leave,” she said.

Furthermore, Haley, who said she is “strongly in support of term limits in this country” suggested “mental competency tests for anyone over the age of 75” and she “wouldn’t care if they did them over the age of 50.”

“But these are people making decisions on our national security. They’re making decisions on our economy, on the border,” she stated. “We need to know they’re at the top of their game.”

In a letter from Congress’ attending physician Dr. Brian Monahan, released through McConell’s office, he gave an update on the GOP Leader’s health.

“I have consulted with Leader McConnell and conferred with his neurology team. After evaluating yesterday’s incident, I have informed Leader McConnell that he is medically clear to continue with his schedule as planned,” he said.

Monahan added, “Occasional lightheadedness is not uncommon in concussion recovery and can also be expected as a result of dehydration.”

On Wednesday, President Joe Biden wished McConell well during a White House news conference regarding Maui wildfire relief. Biden also referred to him as a friend.
