New York Attorney General Letitia James is sharing her thoughts on President Donald Trump reportedly considering implementing martial law.

“The days of President Trump are closely coming to an end. And the reality is is that this is an act of sedition. This president is engaging in illegality, and the fact that he would even consider martial law is an affront to our values, and to the Constitution,” James said during an interview with SiriusXM host Dean Obeidallah.

She added, “The people have spoken and he should accept the outcome of the election as opposed to find fraud where none exists.”

James called it a “distraction” from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on Americans.

“He’s in the White House, and he stews on the fact that he’s a loser, and he lost this election, and unfortunately he’s finding it hard to accept. He lost,” James said.

Listen to her comments below:

Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.) had something similar to say about those who refused to acknowledge Joe Biden as president-elect, as IJR previously reported.

“Each of us who are serving as senators took an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States. One of the most fundamental principles of the Constitution is the peaceful transition of power,” Shaheen said during an interview with CNN Friday.

She continued, “These senators and members of Congress who have refused to acknowledge that we had a free and fair election in which Joe Biden beat Donald Trump by over 7 million votes, are bordering on sedition and treason.”

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) weighed in on the matter, as IJR previously reported.

He called Trump’s attempts to overturn the election “sad” and “embarrassing.”

Former National Security Advisor John Bolton called it “appalling” and stressed Trump is “unfit for the job.”

Pete Buttigieg, President-elect Joe Biden’s nominee for transportation secretary, argued Trump’s discussion of martial law is “irresponsible and dangerous.”
