Former President Donald Trump is being blasted for — checks notes — visiting a restaurant after a court hearing.

After his arraignment, Trump stopped by Versailles, a Cuban restaurant, in Miami, Florida.

And NBC News Chuck Todd saw a sinister motive for the visit.

“There is a faction of South Florida very conservative MAGA Hispanics who are very much rallying around, sort of, almost see common cause of the injustices of America with Cuba and Venezuela. He’s trying to wrap himself in this, in the sort of the folks who claim they’re exiles, in the exile community,” Todd said.

He added, “It’s a real perversion of what the exile community used to fight for. I mean, this is what makes it so surreal to see it here in the United States. We were the safe haven for those that were escaping moments like this.”

“You know… It’s just… What a bizarre moment. And I think again, it’s going to take years for us to understand it,” Todd insisted.

CNN’s Jake Tapper had a similar response as he told his control room to cut away from the moment.

The visit came after Trump was arraigned following his indictment over his handling of classified documents.

While he was in the restaurant, the former president was treated to people singing “Happy Birthday” to him.

Additionally, a group prayed with him.

Perhaps Trump was trying to play into Cuban Americans’ distrust or suspicion of government.

Alternatively, he figured this was a spot he could visit to rejuvenate his spirit by interacting with people who would be friendly toward him.

And it likely was a refreshing moment for Trump who reportedly spent his arraignment with Special Counsel Jack Smith, who is overseeing the case, staring him down.

Yes, Trump spending time with supporters to cheer him up is so sinister, perverse, and bizarre.
