Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) is questioning Rep. Jerrold Nadler’s (D-NY) mental state.

While speaking with reporters in Manhattan over the weekend, Maloney mentioned an editorial published by The New York Post highlighting Nadler’s most recent gaffes.

“They call him senile,” Maloney said.

She added, “They cite his performance at the debate where he couldn’t even remember who he impeached. He said he impeached Bush.”

“I think that you should read the editorial in the NY Post today. They call him senile. They cite his performance at the debate where he couldn’t even remember who he impeached. The Post editorial argued that Nadler “exposed himself as this close to senile” during a debate on August 10.

It continues, “Though his bungling of Trump impeachment hearings (Speaker Nancy Pelosi eventually steered later proceedings away from his Judiciary Committee as a result) provided earlier signs. And don’t forget his Acela phone call where he got recorded discussing his secret-oops impeachment plans! Fact is, this is his first real race in decades: He may have been losing it for years.”

Nadler is running in New York’s 12th District against Maloney as a result of a new districting map.

Over the weekend, Maloney slammed Nadler during an interview with the Post over his support for an ex-city pol accused of sexual misconduct.

“Someone who claims to fight for women’s rights but openly campaigns with a man accused of sexual assault is not who voters should send back to Washington during an extremely fragile moment for women’s rights,” Maloney said.

She also previously accused Nadler of benefitting from the “old boys” club.

“There is an old boys’ network that sticks together and they do not let women in,” Maloney told NY1 in an interview.

She continued, “I was friends with a lot of males that I worked with on the West Side and now they won’t even talk with me. They’re all with Jerry, just like glue.”

Still, Nadler has received his fair share of support.

Earlier this month, The New York Times editorial board endorsed Nadler.

“Mr. Nadler has served in Congress since 1992, and his seniority has proved a critical asset for New Yorkers. He is the chairman of the powerful Judiciary Committee, and he has used his ample influence and seniority to advance urgent legislative work on gun safety, voting rights, the Trump impeachments and more,” the board wrote.

They added, “He has a deep knowledge of this district and the issues most important to daily life in the city, especially housing, transportation and safety.”
