Op-Ed: Don’t Be Fooled – Here’s the Proof Elon Musk Isn’t Really a Conservative

GRUENHEIDE, GERMANY - SEPTEMBER 03: Tesla head Elon Musk talks to the press as he arrives to to have a look at the construction site of the new Tesla Gigafactory near Berlin on September 03, 2020 near Gruenheide, Germany. Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter has sparked a wide range of reactions across the political spectrum.

MSNBC’s Joy Reid suggested he bought Twitter because he “misses” South Africa’s apartheid era.

Meanwhile, conservatives have declared it is “one of the greatest things to ever happen for free speech.”

And his acquisition of the micro-blogging site has led some to ask, what exactly does he believe politically?

On Thursday, Musk shared a graphic that appeared to drop a hint about where he views himself on the political spectrum.

The graphic featured a line representing the political spectrum with “left,” “center,” and “right” labels.

On the graphic, was a figure labeled “me” which was a little more to the left of the political center in 2008.

However, below that was a graphic for 2012 which showed a figure with a labeled “my fellow liberal” running further to the left, and showing him closer to the center.

The graphic then jumps to 2021.

It shows an individual labeled “woke ‘progressive'” even further to the left of the center, with a word bubble that reads, “Bigot!”

On the right side of the graphic is an individual labeled “conservative” with a word bubble that reads, “LOL!”

The graphic shows the “me” individual is slightly more to the right of the center.

His tweet comes after Twitter agreed to his offer to buy the company, as IJR reported.

On Wednesday, he tweeted, “For Twitter to deserve public trust, it must be politically neutral, which effectively means upsetting the far right and the far left equally.”

He later said he wants to “make Twitter maximum fun!”
