Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) is predicting Fox News will receive the Bud Light treatment after it parted ways with Tucker Carlson.

During an appearance on Newsmax on Wednesday, Greene said, “This is a very poor choice for a company to fire their number one that is leading to direct result, the same kind of results of Bud Light has experienced by promoting Dylan Mulvaney — a biological male that prances around like a pre-pubescent teenage girl.”

“But they fired Tucker Carlson and so they are going to feel the results from Americans that are not happy about this,” she added.

In a statement on Monday, Fox News said, “FOX News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways. We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor. Mr. Carlson’s last program was Friday April 21st.”

“Fox News Tonight will air live at 8 PM/ET starting this evening as an interim show helmed by rotating FOX News personalities until a new host is named,” it continued.

It is not clear what led to Carlson’s ouster. Though there have been reports that vulgar language in some of his private texts discovered as part of Dominion Voting Systems’ defamation lawsuit against the network played a role.

Meanwhile, a report by Vanity Fair claimed a speech the host gave on Sunday night that featured religious language played a role.

The abrupt news sparked angry reactions from fans of Carlson.

Shortly after the announcement, the company lost $800 million in market value as its stock dropped about 5.4%.

And in the wake of the news, several Twitter users shared screen shots showing they canceled their subscription to Fox News’ streaming service, Fox Nation, to protest the move.

Additionally, data showed a dip in ratings on the day Carlson’s ouster was revealed. On Monday, 2.6 million people tuned into Fox News at the 8 p.m. time slot, compared to 3.2 million the week before.

CNN media reporter Oliver Darcy tweeted on Wednesday that the trend seems to have continued.

“Oof—ratings for Tuesday dropped and for the first time in as long as I can remember, the 8pm hour on Fox News *LOST* part of the audience. The 7pm hour with Jesse Watters averaged 1.8 million viewers with 158k in the demo. ‘Fox News Tonight’ averaged 1.7 million and 149K in demo,” he wrote.

Darcy added, “Newsmax continued to see a big surge in viewership. During the 8pm hour, host Eric Bolling averaged 562,000 viewers. Last Tuesday, he had averaged just 122,000 viewers. In other words, in a post-Tucker Carlson world, Bolling is averaging almost 5x the audience at 8pm.”

Greene’s comments refer to the boycott against Bud Light that stemmed from its partnership with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney.

The company lost roughly $5 billion in market value in the wake of the boycott movement. And its sales were down 17% the week that ended April 15 compared to the previous year.
