As if we needed a reminder of how out of touch the mainstream media is, and how much hatred its journalists have toward average Americans, MSNBC is more than willing to remind us.

On Tuesday, as votes were trickling in, MSNBC’s Jen Psaki said with a with an apparent sense of disbelief, “I mean, if you look at some of these exit polls, I mean, I live in Virginia, Immigration was the number one issue.”

Her fellow Joy Reid started laughing at the mention of immigration.

Meanwhile, Rachel Maddow quipped, “Virginia does have a border with West Virginia. They’re very contested there.”

The panel burst in to laughter, meanwhile, Psaki added, “You’re thinking, like what?”

This has a very 2016 feel to it with the elite media laughing off real concerns held by average Americans.

Sure, Virginians may not be feeling the same weight as Texas is dealing with the migrant crisis. But thanks to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R), who has decided to ship migrants to blue states and cities, voter around the country can see on the news governments struggling to handle waves of migrants showing up at the border.

They can see schools closing in New York City to be shelters for migrants or California offering its version of Medicare to illegal migrants and wonder why states and local governments are spending their tax dollars to take better care of foreigners than their own citizens.

There are also national security concerns related to the border and concerns about people on the terrorist watch list coming in the country undetected.

Those are just a few issues, and there are plenty more if you listen to anything even remotely fair to conservatives. Some conservative outlets certainly go too far with fear mongering, however, that does not negate the real issues associated with a wide open border.

But it is so tone deaf and out of touch to laugh at voters around the country for saying they care about immigration when it truly is not just an issue for Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona.

Keep it up girls and you’ll be crying like you did the night of the 2016 election wondering how Trump could possibly win against a candidate polls have repeated shown Americans think is too old and unfit to be president.
