Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Anthony Bass called out United Airlines for making his pregnant wife clean up after their children.

On April 16, Bass took to Twitter to express his disapproval of United Airlines’ treatment of his wife, Sydney Rae Bass.

“The flight attendant [United Airlines] just made my 22 week (sic) pregnant wife traveling with a 5 year old (sic) and 2 year old (sic) get on her hands and knees to pick up the popcorn mess by my youngest daughter. Are you kidding me?!?!” he wrote in the caption of a photo showcasing their two daughters sitting on the plane with popcorn surrounding them.

United Airlines responded to the MLB player’s tweet.

“Hi there, Anthony. We certainly understand your concern and we’d like to look into this. When you have a moment, please DM your wife’s confirmation number along with any additional details regarding her interaction with this crew member,” the company wrote.

However, his complaint did not sit well with other users on Twitter.

“Whoa! Do you always expect everyone else to clean up your mess and/or your family’s mess?!?! Feeling a LOT entitled are we,” former Illinois State Rep. Helene Miller Walsh replied.

Pilot and “Red State Columnist” Buzz Patterson wrote, “Commercial airlines are not your children’s playground. Pick it up and take responsibility for your kids.”

“Genuinely curious who should clean up the mess your 2 year old (sic) made? As a parent of three kids I am the one responsible for them,” another user wrote.

Sydney Rae Bass’ sister, singer Jessie James Decker, also came to her defense.

On Sunday, in her now-expired Instagram story obtained by People, she wrote, “My sister [Sydney Rae Bass] just texted me from her flight on [United Airlines]. As you know, she is five months pregnant, high-risk, and also traveling alone with her two small children. Blaire accidentally spilled some popcorn in the aisle, and the flight attendant came up to Sydney with a trash bag and a wet wipe, telling her the captain wants Syd to clean up every drop,” she revealed.

She added, “My poor sister is on her hands and knees, crying in the aisle, completely humiliated and exhausted, with her children while everyone else watched. Way to go, United.”
