Comedian Michael Rapaport criticized Hollywood for choosing not to mention the hostages being held by the terrorist group Hamas at the Golden Globes.

Watch the video below:

I’m so disappointed embarrassed that not one person said anything at the Golden Globes.
There’s men and women the same age as so many of those young actors
Not one mention.
With Billion Dollar BARBIE feminism
& all these conscious actor dudes who wear nail poish, nothing! pic.twitter.com/1VBENvyetR

Rapaport slammed entertainers’ apparent silence on the subject in a post to X, formerly known as Twitter, on Tuesday. He stated, “I am embarrassed.”

“Nobody said anything before the Golden Globes, after the Golden Globes; during the Golden Globes. Not one person said anything,” Rapaport explained.

He called out the hypocrisy of all the actors who talk about human rights and “feminism” completely ignoring the hostages who have remained in danger for months.

Rapaport then declared, “I will say on behalf of actors, I apologize for them.”

“I apologize to Israel, I apologize to the hostage families, I apologize to the victims on their behalf. Excuse their ignorance,” he added.

He also noted how actors have a habit of addressing political issues in public. Hollywood award shows are often where some of the most notable entertainers have brought political issues to the forefront.

Since the Oct. 7 attacks in Israel, entertainers have been taking sides supporting either Palestine or Israel, but the over 100 hostages involved remained captive, a point seldom explored.

Despite their apparent silence, at the 2017 Golden Globes, actors found it imperative to decry Former President Donald Trump, simply because their preferred candidate did not win.

Viola Davis gave an anti-Trump speech backstage, per The Guardian, while Meryl Streep chose to criticize Trump during her Lifetime Achievement Award acceptance speech.

Entertainment Weekly also reported on anti-police rhetoric being included in the Best Live Action Short acceptance speech at the Oscars in 2021.

DAY 96

Rapaport’s concern for the Hamas hostages is ongoing. On Wednesday he posted the number of days they have been held captive, simply writing, “DAY 96.”
