On her show Wednesday, SiriusXM’s Megyn Kelly condemned a decision by a “woke leftist judge” who ruled that gender identity should not disqualify individuals from military service, despite their gender dysphoria.

Biden-appointed Judge Ana Reyes issued a preliminary injunction on Tuesday against President Donald Trump’s executive order that bans transgender individuals from serving in the U.S. military, halting its enforcement until a formal ruling is made. Kelly condemned Judge Reyes’ decision and said that “thinking you’re a woman when you’re actually a man is a bridge too far.”

“The commander in chief and the secretary of Defense may not tell you that you cannot serve. You can be too short. Your anxiety can be a deal breaker, but you’re thinking you’re a woman when you’re actually a man, Rich, is a bridge too far for this woke leftist judge who has already declared, prior to her ruling last night, saying the Trump executive order on this issue is null and void,” Kelly said.

“The notion that there are only two genders is incorrect, it is biologically incorrect, she says. What has it come to? The lawfare has come to this?” Kelly asked guest Rich Lowry.

Lowry said that the recent shift in military policy to accommodate transgender individuals might distract from the Pentagon’s primary focus on warfighting.

“So, obviously, this is an initiative entirely consistent with the secretary of Defense’s entire priority at the Pentagon, which is to focus on war fighting and not get distracted by any other nonsense,” Lowry told Kelly. “And you can make an entirely rational case that gender dysphoria is not consistent with the rigors of combat and what you want an organization devoted to combat to focus on. And, in fact, this determination is so rational, it was actually the case.”

In a Tuesday night ruling, Reyes referenced the Broadway musical “Hamilton” to block the Trump administration’s ban on transgender individuals serving in the military, emphasizing that “all people are created equal.” Reyes chose the musical’s inclusive phrasing over the traditional “all men are created equal” from the Declaration of Independence.

In the ruling, Reyes said that the Trump administration’s policy to bar transgender people from military service is founded on conjecture and riddled with prejudice. Meanwhile, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth said that eliminating left-wing social engineering, including transgender ideology, from military operations to focus on combat effectiveness is a top priority.
