Mark Meadows, the former chief of staff to former President Donald Trump, has a few words to say about Dr. Anthony Fauci, the chief medical adviser to President Joe Biden.

“The only thing consistent about Dr. Fauci is his inconsistency,” Meadows said during an interview on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle” Thursday evening.

Fauci said during NBC’s “Today” show on Thursday that there was “divisiveness in our country that even simple, commonsense public health measures took on a political connotation.” He added that “mixed messages were coming from Washington.”

The nation’s top infectious disease expert continued:

“If you wanted to wear a mask, you were on this side. If you wanted to stay in and avoid congregate settings, you were on this side. It wasn’t a pure public health approach. It was really very much influenced by the divisiveness that we had in this country.”

Meadows responded to Fauci’s remarks, “Dr. Fauci is the same one that said that every recommendation he made to President Trump…President Trump followed.”

“It’s interesting now that we have a new administration, we have a new Dr. Fauci that seems to forget some of the conversations that he and I had,” he continued.

Meadows added that he would be “happy” to be on the show with Fauci to compare notes and point out Fauci’s apparent “inconsistency” on topics like masks and vaccine availability.

Watch his interview below:

Fauci was a member of the White House coronavirus task force during the Trump administration. Following his time working during the previous administration, Fauci expressed relief to be working under the Biden administration.

“The idea that you can get up here and talk about what you know, what the evidence, what the science is and know that’s it, let the science speak, it is somewhat of a liberating feeling,” Fauci told reporters during a White House press briefing on Jan. 21.

Fauci previously suggested political division in 2020 “certainly” contributed to the COVID-19 death toll in the U.S.
