Despite polls suggesting otherwise, Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel is hopeful President Donald Trump will garner support from suburban women ahead of the upcoming November election.

CBS’s Margaret Brennan noted McDaniel’s profile in the Wall Street Journal where she acknowledged women who supported Trump in 2016 may have “faded away.”

Brennan indicated the data shows they have more than just faded away, it has been a “large swing.”

She asked McDaniel why Trump has lost support from women.

“I think women are coming back, women make the majority of the health care decisions and as they see us on track to a vaccine, they see the therapeutics coming in, they want to see their kids in school,” McDaniel said.

Watch her comments below:

She argued the civil unrest taking place in “Democrat-run” cities are bringing women back to Trump because they do not want to see “cities burned down, looting, the rioting.”

Brennan mentioned remarks made by Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) during an interview.

He said the lack of suburban support in his district is about a “personal dislike” for Trump.

“I think we can get over, first of all, if you don’t like somebody… how are they going to govern?” McDaniel said.

She added, “I don’t know if I agree with Dan on that, I personally like President Trump, but if you look at taxes, I don’t want my taxes raised right now, I want to have energy independence, I’m really pleased with what he’s done with judges, especially putting a woman like Amy Coney Barrett on the bench who’s a trailblazer and a mom of young kids.”

According to a recent Washington Post-ABC News poll, among female likely voters, 59% support Biden compared to 36% who back Trump.

The same poll sound suburban women supported Biden over Trump by 62 to 34%.
