Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) is not sharing what the Republicans’ agenda will be if they win control of the Senate in the 2022 midterm elections.

The Kentucky Republican was asked on Wednesday what the party’s agenda would be if his party regains control of the Senate. He responded, “That is a very good question and I’ll let you know when we take it back.”

“This midterm election will be a report card on the performance of this entire Democratic government, the president, the House, and the Senate,” McConnell added.

The Senate is currently divided 50-50 between Democrats and Republicans.

If Republicans pick up one seat in the Senate without losing any of the ones they currently hold in the upcoming midterms, they would win control of the chamber.

While McConnell did not lay out an agenda, New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu (R) says he decided against running for the Senate due to concerns that Republicans only plan on obstructing President Joe Biden.

Sununu, who Republicans saw as their best bet to win New Hampshire’s Senate election this year, told the Washington Examiner that he was “pretty close” to deciding to run for the Senate.

However, the governor said he changed his mind after speaking to several Republican senators.

“They were all, for the most part, content with the speed at which they weren’t doing anything. It was very clear that we just have to hold the line for two years. OK, so I’m just going to be a roadblock for two years. That’s not what I do,” he told the Examiner.

According to the Examiner, Sununu said Republicans “plan to do little more with the majority they are fighting to win this November than obstruct President Joe Biden until, ‘hopefully,’ 2024 ushers a Republican into the White House.”
