The youngest daughter of late convicted child rapist Mary Kay Letourneau and Vili Fualaau announced she is expecting a child.

In an exclusive interview with People, Georgia Fualaau, 24, revealed she is having a baby boy and got candid about how she felt about becoming a mother.

“I’ve known since I was about 4 weeks. I’m very excited to become a mother. I have an amazing mother to prepare me for these years to come,” she said.

She also said she believes her late mother would “be really happy,” about her pregnancy.

“I think maybe at first it would be kind of shocking, because I am her baby, but after that, she’d be the most excited grandmother-to-be,” Georgia Fualaau added.

Furthermore, she shared how her mother’s parenting prepared her for motherhood.

“My mom she was a very strict mother — but she also loved each and every one of her kids in their own way,” Georgia Fualaau explained. “So I feel like everything she’s taught us just led to us being able to be amazing parents in the future.”

Speaking on her father, she said he is “extremely supportive” along with her sister, Audrey, 26, and is “already buying baby stuff for me and giving me hand-me-downs from my baby sister.”

In July 2022, Letourneau died after a battle with stage 4 cancer. She was 58.

Following her death, Vili Fualaau, ex-husband and former student, along with the rest of Letourneau’s family, released a statement shared by writer Danielle Bacher on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The statement revealed, “Mary fought tirelessly against this terrible disease.”

“Mary, and all of us, found great strength in having our immediate and extended family members together to join her in this arduous struggle. We did our very best to care for Mary and one another as we kept her close and stayed close together,” the statement continued.

In 1997, the former sixth-grade teacher was arrested and sentenced to seven and a half years in prison for the rape of Vili Fualaau, who was 13 years old at the time, according to People. She gave birth to Georgia Fualauu while in prison in October 1998.
