Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) reacted to a moment during a hearing involving Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) with a demand regarding the Department of Justice.
Greene shared a video of Gaetz questioning DOJ official Matthew Olsen during a hearing of the House Judiciary Committee.
Gaetz asked Olsen, “Is Hunter Biden a national security threat?”
He replied, “That’s not a question that would come up before me, Congressman.”
Gaetz explained, “You’re the head of the national security division, so it seems sort of on the nose.”
When asked if he knows where Hunter Biden’s laptop is, Olsen responded, “I’m not going to talk about any potential ongoing investigation as I sit here.”
Greene reacted to the exchange in a tweet, saying, “‘We don’t answer questions about an ongoing investigation.’ This is the controlled fall. Claim Hunter Biden is under investigation so that all information is sealed, and the outcome is under their control.”
She continued, “What an incredible injustice to the American people! Defund the DOJ!!!”

Greene is not the only lawmaker to criticize the Department of Justice over its handling of the investigation into Hunter Biden.
Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) penned a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland claiming the agencies have been accused by “highly credible whistleblowers” of burying “verified and verifiable” dirt on Hunter Biden.
According to Grassley, these whistleblowers say they did so by dismissing the intelligence as “misinformation.”
“You have an obligation to the country to take these allegations seriously, immediately investigate and take steps to institute fixes to these and other matters before you,” Grassley wrote.
Grassley argued, based on the allegations he has received, the departments “have systemic and existential problems.”
The New York Post noted the agencies did confirm that they had received the letter.
