Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) is introducing two bills to “fight back against the authoritarian COVID dictates of Democrat politicians, DC bureaucrats, and Corporate Communists.”

Greene introduced two pieces of legislation to cut Dr. Anthony Fauci’s salary and ban “vaccine passports” on Thursday.

She said in a statement, “The ‘Fire Fauci Act’ will slash the salary of Dr. Always Wrong to $0 and the ‘We Will Not Comply Act’ will ban vaccine ‘passports,’ prevent discrimination against the unvaccinated, and much more to protect the freedom of the American People.”

Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) pointed to Greene’s legislation as an example of why “Members of Congress need good staff.”

He added, “Helps prevent us from introducing stupid, nonsensical bills like the one below from [Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene]”

The Biden administration announced this week it is not planning on developing a federal vaccination app and will leave it to the private sector to create digital passports to prove people have received the COVID-19 vaccine.

Other leaders have railed against vaccine passports, including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), as IJR reported.

“You want the fox to guard the henhouse? I mean, give me a break. I think this is something that has huge privacy implications. It is not necessary to do. We’re going to have hit 3.5 million seniors that have gotten shots sometime this week, likely 75% of seniors” DeSantis said.

He added, “It’s important to be able to do it but at the same time, we are not going to have you provide proof of this just to be able to live your life normally and I’m going to be taking some action in an executive function, emergency function here very shortly.”

Fauci has received criticism from Republicans and recently sparred with Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) over his call on people to continue to wear masks even after being vaccinated.
