Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) made a declaration about where she believes she ranks in Congress.

Greene took to Twitter to react to a tweet posted by Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) about her committee assignments.

“She’s going to do amazing work for the people on these key committees she has EARNED,” Gaetz tweeted.

Greene replied, “Thanks to [Speaker McCarthy] and Steering for voting me on the committees I requested on the submission form most of us filled out. Too bad we’re weeks behind after you spent a week only getting MTV from 5 to 1.”

She then declared herself the “leading MAGA voice in Congress,” adding, “I look forward to committees.”

On Tuesday, it was reported that Greene would be placed on the House Homeland Security Committee.

In 2021, the House voted to take Greene off of the Budget Committee and the Education and Labor Committee following discovery of some of her social media posts.

Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said at the time, “I remain profoundly concerned about House Republicans’ leadership acceptance of extreme conspiracy theorists.”

She added, “Particularly disturbing is their eagerness to reward a QAnon adherent, a 9/11 truther, a harasser of child survivors of school shootings.”

Pelosi continued, “You would think that the Republican leadership in the Congress would have some sense of responsibility to this institution.”

Greene delivered remarks on the House floor ahead of the vote.

“This is what I ran for Congress on,” Greene said.

She explained, “I never once said during my entire campaign ‘QAnon.’ I never once said any of the things that I am being accused of today during my campaign. I never said any of these things since I have been elected for Congress. These were words of the past. And these things do not represent me. They do not represent my district. And they do not represent my values.”
