Tucker Carlson told a man at a fly fishing shop to “settle down” after calling the Fox News host “the worst human being known to mankind.”

The man, named Dan Bailey, added, “I don’t care that your daughter’s here.”

After laughing, Carlson told Bailey, “Settle down, son.”

Bailey responded, “Don’t call me ‘son.'”

In his Instagram post, Bailey blasted Carlson, saying, “It’s not everyday you get to tell someone they are the worst person in the world and really mean it!”

He continued, “What an a******! This man has killed more people with vaccine misinformation, he has supported extreme racism, he is a fascist and does more to rip this country apart than anyone that calls themselves an American.”

The store, Dan Bailey’s Outdoor Company, posted a statement to reassure customers the man is not affiliated with the business. He happens to have the same name.

“To be clear, we treat every customer equally and respectfully. Our staff was professional and cordial to Mr. Carlson, as we are with all of our customers,” the company said.

A Fox News spokesperson provided a statement to Mediaite. It reads, “Ambushing Tucker Carlson while he is in a store with his family is totally inexcusable — no public figure should be accosted regardless of their political persuasion or beliefs simply due to the intolerance of another point of view.”

Carlson has questioned the effectiveness of the vaccine. During his show, he told viewers, “We’re not saying there is no benefit to the vaccine — there may well be profound benefits to the vaccine.”

He also recognized that “various vaccines seem to lower the effects of the disease, make it less severe on people.”

Still, he referred to Texas cases, asking, “It makes you wonder, how effective are those drugs anyway?”
