Former “Friends” star Lisa Kudrow is reportedly mulling a decision to adopt the dog of her former co-star Matthew Perry who passed away on Saturday.

Kudrow, who played Phoebe on the popular sitcom, and the rest of her “Friends” castmates believe Perry, who played Chandler, may have drowned after taking “something” that may not have mixed “with the warm water,” although nobody “wants to believe it was medication,” a source close to Kudrow and her “Friends” co-stars told the Daily Mail.

Kudrow, who will be attending Perry’s funeral, along with her former co-stars, is considering adopting his dog Alfred, the source told the outlet.

Perry was found dead in his hot tub on Oct. 28 at his home in Los Angeles due to an apparent drowning. He was 54 years old at the time of his death.

“Although no one wants to believe it was medication – prescribed or not – of course that is a thought in their minds,” the source said.

Perry was also known for his roles in television shows such as, “Ally McBeal,” “Scrubs,” and “The West Wing.”

The actor had struggled with an addiction to drugs and alcohol over the years and had been to rehab roughly 15 times.

In his memoir released last year, Perry opened up about his struggle with his addiction to drugs and alcohol.

“Addiction, the big terrible thing, is far too powerful for anyone to defeat alone,” Perry wrote in his memoir. “But together, one day at a time, we can beat it down.”

In a 2022 interview on the podcast, Q with Tom Power, Perry said he didn’t want to be remembered for his time spent on “Friends” but rather for how he had helped people “to be the first thing that’s mentioned” about him.

“The best thing about me, bar none, is if somebody comes to me and says, ‘I can’t stop drinking, can you help me?’ I can say, ‘yes” and follow up and do it,” Perry said in the interview.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that Perry’s autopsy report had been completed on Sunday and that the “results are pending a toxicology report,” although the results can take weeks to be complete.
