Rapper Lil Nas X responded to backlash over his entering into the Christian music realm.

On Dec. 6, Lil Nas X, 24, addressed the controversy on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“I made one snippet about wanting god (sic) to give me hope a few days ago and already like 5 christian rappers have conceptualized, wrote, recorded, and shot music videos in their grandma’s basements for diss songs about me. we really back,” he wrote.

This came after he responded to a user on X who expressed his disapproval of the Grammy Award winner’s new venture after making a “satanic album.”

“The devil is mentioned ONE time throughout my entire last album and the line is ‘tell the the (sic) devil i (sic) wont have him inside, i (sic) know everything’s gonna be alright’,” Lil Nas X explained.

He added, “y’all (sic) have spent this entire last week rewriting history over me releasing a snippet.”

He also responded to a comment made by “Fast and Furious” actor Tyrese Gibson on Nov. 29, accusing him of “playing with God.”

“this (sic) really crazy cuz all i (sic) did was post a song about asking god (sic) for hope when you feel hopeless and yall acting like I posted a video of me burning a church down and peeing on a nativity scene,” the “Old Town Road” singer explained.

That same day, Lil Nas X, who came out as gay in 2019, posted a now-viral video previewing his song on X.

“y’all (sic) mind if i (sic) enter my christian (sic) era ?” he wrote in the caption.

In 2021, Lil Nas X sparked outrage after he gave “Satan” a lap dance in his music video for his song “Montero (Call Me By Your Name).”

According to Variety, he made no apologies for the controversial video on X.

“there (sic) was no system involved. i (sic) made the decision to create the music video. i (sic) am an adult,” Lil Nas X wrote.

He added, “i (sic) am not gonna spend my entire career trying to cater to your children. that (sic) is your job.”
