A Los Angeles man led police on a strange slow-speed chase after stealing a golf cart Sunday night.

Fox 11 Los Angeles showed footage of the chase, which placed the speed between 16 and 21 miles per hour.

The suspect allegedly stole the golf cart from a security guard at an abandoned Sherman Oaks grocery store and led police on the chase from Van Nuy to Valley Village.

The shirtless, shoeless suspect held his dog in his lap while being pursued and evaded officers by driving on sidewalks.

ABC 7 News also showed footage of the suspect driving around road spikes to avoid being captured before finally being boxed in North Hollywood.

The man then attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended by a team of about a dozen police officers.

The strange situation led users to post about it on X, formerly Twitter.

Scopley Director of Community Aaron Kaufman stated, “Happening in my neighborhood Encino right now. An armed driver in a golf cart is being chased.”

They should apologize to this city for tonight's performance. https://t.co/NN4uguJwq4
