Kellyanne Conway, a former counselor to President Donald Trump, is recognizing President-elect Joe Biden as the winner of the election.

“We want the engines of government to keep going, and you always need a peaceful transfer of democracy no matter whose administration goes into whose administration, there’s no question. If you look at the vote totals in the Electoral College tally, it looks like Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will prevail,” Conway said during an interview with The 19th.

The 19th is “a nonprofit, nonpartisan newsroom reporting on gender, politics and policy.”

Conway acknowledged Trump wants to “exhaust” all of his legal options before conceding the election.

“That is his right. At the same time, it’s President Trump who freed up the GSA money and authorized them to go ahead and start the transition process for the Biden-Harris team,” Conway added.

Check out her remarks below:

Trump reiterated his refusal to concede and unsubstantiated allegations of widespread voter fraud during a video he posted to Facebook Wednesday, as IJR previously reported.

“This may be the most important speech I’ve ever made. I want to provide an update on our ongoing efforts to expose the tremendous voter fraud and irregularities which took place during the ridiculously long November 3rd elections,” Trump said.

He added, “Now we have election days, weeks, and months and lots of bad things happened during this ridiculous period of time.”

Trump accused the Biden campaign of “acting like they already knew what the outcome was going to be.”

Attorney General William Barr revealed Tuesday the Department of Justice (DOJ) has not found evidence of widespread voter fraud, as IJR previously reported.

Biden told CNN Thursday he believes Trump attending his inauguration is important “only in one sense.”

He continued, “Not in a personal sense. Important in the sense that we are able to demonstrate at the end of this chaos that he’s created that there is peaceful transfer of power with the competing parties standing there shaking hands and moving on.”
