Actress Kate Hudson revealed when she is going to release an album.

On Tuesday, Hudson shared during an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” her love of singing and announced she has been “making a record” for a year.

The 43-year-old explained that during the COVID-19 pandemic, she realized that not sharing her music, that she’s been writing since she was 19, would be one of her “great regrets.”

“Like, I have no expectations. I just want to put a record out, and so I’m doing it,” she added.

Hudson said that the release date for her album would be next year.

In April, Hudson teased an album release on her Instagram page by sharing a photo of her standing in front of a microphone.

She captioned the photo, “Finally realized it’s time to say f#%! it and saaaannngg!!!!! #albumincoming #myikigai.

In an interview on “The Ellen Show” in 2017, Hudson shared that music is her “first love.”

“There’s a lot of singing that goes on in our house,” the mother of three said.

Hudson has also taken singing roles in the past. She starred in season 4 of the show “Glee” and shared with Access Online what the experience was like.

“Doing all three – singing and dancing and acting and I love it. I just love it!” she said.

In 2021, Hudson also sang in the movie “Music” where she played the half sister of a girl on the autism spectrum and became her sole guardian.

The movie received backlash for not casting a person with autism to play the role.

In an interview on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” in 2021, Hudson responded to the backlash.

“Nobody has really asked me [about the backlash], I’ve only been asked to comment on it through a quote. It’s not a soundbite conversation, I think it’s an ongoing, important dialogue to be had about neurotypical actors portraying neurodivergent characters,” she explained.

Continuing, she said, “It is an important one to have with people who are experts and really know how to engage in the conversation, so I encourage it, really, truly. We are listening and it’s an important dialogue to have.”
