A New York judge has handed former President Donald Trump a multi-million dollar penalty in a civil fraud case.

On Friday, Judge Arthur Engoron hit Trump with a $364 million penalty.

The Associated Press notes the penalty came after Engoron ruled Trump engaged in a “yearslong scheme to dupe banks and others with financial statements that inflated the former president’s wealth.”

“Trump also was barred from serving as an officer or director of any New York corporation for three years,” it added.

The former president has lashed out at the trial and has called it a “fraud on me.”

Before the trial even started, Engoron ruled Trump is liable for fraud.
