Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) is revealing that he contracted COVID-19 over the summer.

During an interview with Spectrum News’ Taylor Popielarz, Jordan said, “I’ve had the virus. I don’t talk about my health status with reporters. But, I’ve had the coronavirus and recovered. And [I] actually had the antibody test done, and it showed that my antibodies are strong.”

When asked if he knew when he had the virus, Jordan said, “I believe it was back early in the summer when, that’s when I didn’t feel well, was back when I was in Ohio.”

Ohio's @Jim_Jordan (R), who told me in June he hadn't been vaccinated, now tells me he had #COVID19 this summer.

In June, Jordan told Popielarz that he was not vaccinated against COVID-19.

The Ohio Congressman has been a critic of measures designed to slow the spread of the virus.

In April, he grilled Dr. Anthony Fauci on when such measures would end. He asked, “When do Americans get their freedom back?”

“When we get the level of infection in this country low enough that it is not a really high threat,” Fauci began to respond.

Jordan interrupted, “What is low enough? Give me a number. We had 15 days to slow the spread turned into one year of lost liberty. What metrics, what measures, what has to happen before Americans get more freedoms?”

While Fauci noted Jordan was focusing on liberty and freedoms, he said, “I don’t look at this as a liberty thing, Congressman Jordan. I look at this as a public health thing.”

“That’s obvious,” Jordan shot back. “You think the Constitution is suspended during a virus, during a pandemic? It’s certainly not.”

Fauci asserted that once the level of infection drops, the mitigation efforts can be lifted. However, he raised concerns that there could be another “major surge.”
