President-elect Joe Biden will be sworn in as the 46th President of the United States.

In a message on the morning of his inauguration, Biden tweeted, “It’s a new day in America.”

Biden, who was the vice president under the Obama administration, also received a message from former President Barack Obama.

“Congratulations to my friend, President [Joe Biden]!” Obama tweeted. “This is your time.”

Biden will be sworn in at 12 p.m. EST on Wednesday.

Vice President-elect Kamala Harris and Biden attended an inaugural church service at the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle in Washington, D.C., in the morning.

Biden and Harris, along with a few former presidents and their spouses, will participate in a wreath laying ceremony at the Arlington National Ceremony at 2:25 p.m. EST. The then-president and vice president will receive a Presidential Escort to the White House. At 5:15 p.m. EST, Biden will enter the Oval Office for the first time as president. Biden and Harris will also deliver remarks later this evening during the “Celebrating America” TV event.
