A job search website is offering $10,000 to transgender employees and their families who are willing to relocate to other states.

Indeed confirmed to Axios that the company had made this decision amid an increase in states passing anti-LGBTQ legislation. Misty Gaither, the vice president of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging with the company, said transgender employees were an “integral” part of the company’s business.

“Our transgender, non-binary and gender non-conforming colleagues are integral to our business and culture at Indeed,” Gaither said.

“We know employees thrive and do their best work when they can bring their authentic selves to work,” Gaither added.

Employees were informed of the relocation benefit for transgender employees, which kicked in during the month of July, the company confirmed to the outlet.

One Indeed employee, Sam Burger, who previously went by Magdalene reportedly used the benefit money to leave Austin, Texas, and move to Denver, Colorado. The move only cost Burger $5,000, pointing to how the $10,000 went a long way, according to The Blaze.

“As soon as I found out that I was getting the money, it was very much like a weight lifted,” Burger said.

The company will also reportedly cover any tax liability from the fee, according to the outlet.

Companies such as Amazon, American Airlines, Chevron Gas & Mobile, and Starbucks have announced similar measures, including releasing pamphlets on transgender care for their employees and making resources available to them.
