A whistleblower in the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is revealing his identity and speaking out about the investigation into President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden.

On Wednesday, IRS Special Agent Joseph Ziegler revealed his identity as one of two whistleblowers who were involved in the Hunter Biden investigation.

He had previously been known as “Agent X,” and claimed the probe warranted charges more than the tax and gun crimes the younger Biden will plead guilty to. However, he alleged there was resistance to felony charges from the Justice Department.

Ziegler also suggested to CBS News that investigators were “prevented from going down certain roads” in the course of their investigation and added, “I guess I don’t know what could have been found if we were not hamstrung or not handcuffed.”

CBS News’ Catherine Herridge asked if the probe turned up evidence Joe Biden benefited from Hunter Biden’s business deals.

“I don’t feel comfortable answering that question,” Ziegler responded. He added, “Any time we potentially wanted to go down that road of asking questions related to the president, it was, ‘That’s going to take too much approval, we can’t ask those questions.'”

He accepted such a politically sensitive case would likely require more approval, but claimed, “It would be like, ‘Well, let’s think about that, let’s put that on the back burner.'”

A 2017 WhatsApp allegedly sent from Hunter Biden to a business associate claimed, “I am sitting here with my father and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled.’

“Tell the director that I would like to resolve this now before it gets out of hand, and now means tonight,” the text continued, adding, “If I get a call or text from anyone involved in this other than you, Zhang, or the chairman, I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my direction.”

Ziegler claimed investigators tried to determine if Joe Biden was actually in the room when the message was sent.

However, he was unable to find out if the older Biden was actually in the room.

Joe Biden has denied he was in the room. He has also insisted he did not discuss Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings.
