Fox News host Laura Ingraham is urging Republicans to replace Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) amid concerns about his health.

During a segment of her show Wednesday, Ingraham said, “Republicans can’t Feinstein McConnell, in other words, continue on like this. It’s cruel. And it also negates their ability to make Biden’s own decrepit state an issue in 2024.”

“And by the way, whomever the GOP Senate chooses to replace McConnell should not be his establishment understudy. Instead, he or she should reflect the majority views of the party on China, on the border, on the Deep State — the need to reform it, Ukraine, and trade,” she continued.

Her comment referred to the few number of Democratic lawmakers publicly calling or pushing for Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) to resign amid health concerns.

The segment comes after a video showed McConnell, 81, freeze up while taking questions from reporters, as IJR reported.

A video on Wednesday showed the Kentucky senator being asked if he plans to run for re-election in 2026.

“Oh, I see,” McConnell responded.

He then turned and stared without answering the question.

Eventually, an aide walked over and asked, “Did you hear the question senator? Running for re-election in 2026?”

“Yes,” McConnell responded without further elaborating.

In a statement after the incident, McConnell’s office said he was “momentarily lightheaded and paused,” and added that he would see a doctor.

McConnell had a similar incident in July during a press conference. He stopped in the middle of a sentence and froze for several seconds before being led away.

He later insisted he was “fine,” and his staff told reporters he felt lightheaded during the incident.
