Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton laughed while discussing indictments against former President Donald Trump.

During an interview on MSNBC Monday evening, Clinton spoke with Rachel Maddow about the upcoming news regarding Trump being indicted a fourth time. A Grand Jury in Fulton County, Georgia indicted Trump and 18 other people regarding efforts to overturn the 2020 election results.

“Oh, I can’t believe this,” Clinton laughed after Maddow asked her what she was thinking of the indictments.

“Honestly, I didn’t think that it would be under these circumstances,” Clinton told Maddow of talking to her. “Yet, another set of indictments.”

“Defendant Donald John Trump lost the United States presidential election held on November 3, 2020. One of the states he lost was Georgia. Trump and the other Defendants charged in this Indictment refused to accept that Trump lost, and they knowingly and willfully joined a conspiracy to unlawfully change the outcome of the election in favor of Trump,” the 98-page indictment begins.

Trump faces 11 counts in the new indictment which include; Violation of the Georgia RICO(Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations) Act, Solicitation of Violation of Oath by Public Officer, making false statements and writings, conspiring to commit forgery in the first degree, according to the indictment.

“It’s hard to believe. I don’t feel any satisfaction. I feel great, just great profound sadness that we have a former president who has been indicted for so many charges that went right to the heart of whether or not our democracy would survive,” Clinton told Maddow.

Other defendants included in the indictment include former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, lawyers John Eastman and Jenna Ellis, and former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows.

Clinton described the fourth indictment as a “terrible moment” for the nation “to have a former president accused of these terribly important crimes,” adding that the “only satisfaction” would be that “the system is working.”
