Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.) is being criticized after she posted a maskless selfie.
In a tweet on Sunday, Slotkin wrote, “Another successful Snow Boots on the Ground event in Owosso!”
“Thank you to everyone who came out despite the frigid temperatures. (My selfie skills also seem to be improving so my team actually let me post this one!)” she added.
She shared a picture of herself without a mask, while in the background attendees of the event can be seen wearing masks.

Slotkin’s post comes just days after Georgia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams was criticized for posting a picture of herself sitting maskless in a room where children were wearing masks.

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) tweeted, “Stacey Abrams wants state government mask mandates for Georgians and their children. But it looks like they wouldn’t apply when she’s attending a photo op.”

Abrams’ lack of mask-wearing was apparently a violation of a Decatur City Commission ordinance. She later deleted the picture.
In a tweet, Abrams’ campaign manager Laura Groh-Wargo wrote, “Our opponents took a brief break from licking Trump’s boots this weekend to issue baseless attacks, and it’s more of their typical dishonest, wannabe tough guy fodder to distract from their failure.”

She shared a statement from the campaign that read, “It is shameful that our opponents are using a Black History Month reading event for Georgia children as the impetus for a false political attack, and it is pitiful and predictable that our opponents continue to look for opportunities to distract from their failed records when it comes to protecting public health during a pandemic.”
“This pathetic, transparent, and silly attack is beneath anyone who claims he wants to lead Georgia,” it added.
