Former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was slammed after unveiling her official State Department portrait. On Tuesday, Clinton, 75, posted the portrait on X, formerly known as Twitter. "Today, I was honored to return to the [State Department] and join [Secretary Blinken] in unveiling my official portrait as 67th Secretary of State," she wrote in the caption. "We're delighted to share it with the American public right here, in case you don't make it in person to headquarters in Foggy Bottom anytime soon." https://twitter.com/HillaryClinton/status/1706752492493504904 In a separate post, Clinton recalled the day she took on the role. "When I walked into the State Department as Secretary fourteen years ago, I knew that having the honor to lead the State Department and USAID would be a singular challenge and a unique chance to do good in the world. It was that and so much more," she shared. https://twitter.com/HillaryClinton/status/1706752500089422225 Clinton concluded, "I'm deeply proud of all that we accomplished and grateful to everyone at the Department for their unflagging work to ensure peace, progress, and prosperity around the world. They continue to make me, and our country, proud." https://twitter.com/HillaryClinton/status/1706752505462636772 However, users on X used the unveiling as an opportunity to express their disdain for her. The Federalist co-founder Sean Davis responded by posting a photo of late U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens who was tragically killed in 2012 in a terrorist attack along with three other Americans in Benghazi, Libya. Clinton has been consistently blamed for how she handled the attacks. https://twitter.com/seanmdav/status/1706786272956596450 "One of the biggest criminals in our time. Show us the emails," one user wrote, referring to Clinton's private emails regarding Benghazi. https://twitter.com/TheAVShowDaily/status/1706762062834307575 Another user wrote, "You are an evil witch and should be in prison." https://twitter.com/C0ntraryMary/status/1706772615296057447 "13th hours Benghazi soldiers Real life story the day American was shattered by Clinton (sic) arrogance," one user alleged.
