Vice President Kamala Harris is not known for her great and moving oratory skills.

We are frequently treated to cringe-worthy responses that are nonsensical, or seem as though she is desperately trying to string together a sentence that sounds profound without considering if it actually means anything.

But during an exclusive interview with CNN, her propensity for spewing out words that mean nothing was once again on full display.

“When you think about it, in terms of what that means in terms of democratic principles in terms of the ideals upon which we were founded about liberty, about freedom. You know, I thought about it as, you know, a parent, we have two children who are in their twenties — a son and a daughter. I thought about as a godparent of teenagers. I thought of it as an aunt of pre-school children,” Harris said.

She was doing reasonably OK until CNN’s Dana Bash interjected to add that Harris is a woman.

At that point, Harris then decided to run with that idea which apparently seemed like a profound concept, and as usual, it ended poorly.

“And a woman myself,” the vice president repeated. “And the daughter of a woman, and a granddaughter of a woman.”

Unless Harris is insisting that men can give birth and that either she or her mother might have been birthed by a man, that sentence is utterly useless.

While it is 2022, Harris was inaugurated and celebrated as the first woman vice president so her gender identity does not seem to be in question. And Bash’s decision to point out that Harris is a woman seems odd.

Indeed, the look on Harris’ face immediately after her little tangent appears to show she knew that it wasn’t good.

It’s unclear why Bash interjected to add the part about Harris being a woman herself. The vice president seemed to be going along just fine until she felt the need to interrupt.

At that point, Harris seized on the idea and went off the rails for a few seconds.

The interview comes after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, as IJR reported.

Shockingly, Harris seems entirely unprepared to respond to the decision despite essentially having more than a month to prepare.

Instead, we have gotten this response and a picture of her watching TV on a plane.
