After President Joe Biden’s first year in office, half of Americans said they feel “frustrated” with his presidency, according to a poll.
A CBS News poll released Sunday found 49% are “disappointed” with his presidency, 40% feel “nervous,” 25% are “calm,” and 25% are “satisfied.”

According to the poll, less than half say Biden’s actions as president are “competent,” “effective,” or “focused.”

“Biden’s job approval at the 1-year mark is 44%, despite the fact that only 26% of Americans think things in the country are going well. It dropped months ago and has not recovered. Biden started out up in the 60s, buoyed by optimism about getting the pandemic under control,” CBS News reported.

The poll points out that Biden is losing popularity among Americans regarding his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and the economy.
Sixty-two percent of Americans disapprove of the way Biden is handling the economy. Only 36% say the country’s approach to dealing with the pandemic is “going well.”
The outlet explains, “His job rating on handling COVID is down to the lowest point in his presidency, and when asked specifically why they don’t think he’s handling it well, two-thirds cite information about the outbreak being confusing. Few attribute it to a lack of vaccinations.”
The poll was conducted between January 12 and 14. It surveyed 2,094 American adults.
During a White House press briefing last week, a reporter asked White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki whether it was time for the administration to make changes, as IJR reported.
She mentioned the success of getting millions of Americans vaccinated, the low unemployment rate, and suggested that Biden “rebuilt our alliances and relationships around the world.”
Psaki added, “We also recognize when you have a small margin and threshold in the Senate, it’s very difficult to get things done and to get legislation passed.”
