Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley says she will not run for president in 2024 if former President Donald Trump decides to run again.

During a press conference on Monday, Haley told Associated Press reporter Meg Kinnard that she would support Trump if he decided to run again.

She said, “I would not run if President Trump ran, and I would talk to him about it. That’s something that we’ll have a conversation about at some point if that decision is something that has to be made.”

I asked @NikkiHaley if she would support Donald Trump if he runs again in 2024.

“Yes,” she told me.

“I would not run if President Trump ran, and I would talk to him about it,” she added. “That’s something that we will have a conversation about, at some point.”

She went on to say that they had a “great working relationship” while she served as ambassador to the United Nations.

“I appreciated the way he let me do my job. I thought we did some fantastically great foreign policy things together, and look, I just want to keep building on what we accomplished and not watch it get torn down,” she added.

Haley, who is seen as a potential contender for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, issued a scathing rebuke of Trump during an interview with Politico published in February.

She said she had not spoken to Trump since the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol adding, “When I tell you I’m angry, it’s an understatement.”

She also said at the time that she believed Trump “lost any sort of political viability he was going to have” and will not run for president again.

“I don’t think he’s going to be in the picture. I don’t think he can. He’s fallen so far,” she said, adding, “We need to acknowledge he let us down. He went down a path he shouldn’t have, and we shouldn’t have followed him, and we shouldn’t have listened to him. And we can’t let that ever happen again.”

She also claimed, “The person that I worked with is not the person that I have watched since the election.”

Trump has not said whether he will run for president again, though he hinted during a speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) that he might, as IJR reported.

Additionally, a poll of CPAC attendees found that Trump would dominate the field of Republicans if he did decide to run again.
