Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) announced he has tested positive for COVID-19.

He tweeted Monday, “I was just informed by the House physician I have tested positive for [COVID19] even after being vaccinated. I started having flu-like symptoms Saturday night and went to the doctor this morning.”

Graham added, “I feel like I have a sinus infection and at present time I have mild symptoms. I will be quarantining for ten days. I am very glad I was vaccinated because without vaccination I am certain I would not feel as well as I do now. My symptoms would be far worse.”

As the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) notes, “A small percentage of people who are fully vaccinated will still get COVID-19 if they are exposed to the virus that causes it. These are called ‘vaccine breakthrough cases.'”

Graham received the vaccine in December of 2020. He tweeted, “Thank God for nurses who help people in need and know how to use a needle. Thank God for those who produced these vaccines.”

He continued, “If enough of us take it, we will get back to normal lives. Help is on the way.”

On Monday, the CDC announced 70% of adults in the U.S. 18 and older, or approximately 180.7 million Americans, have received at least one dose of the vaccine, as ABC News reports.
