The CEO of Goya Foods warned that rising food prices could affect the “spirit” of the Thanksgiving holiday.

During an interview on “Cavuto: Coast to Coast” Goya Foods CEO Robert Unanue spoke about how inflation is “out-of-control” and went on to cast blame on the administration.

Since President Joe Biden took office prices have increased 17% and are reportedly on pace to double in less than 12 years, according to The Heritage Foundation.

“We’re having problems all over the world with food issues,” Unanue explained. “The price of cans went up 64%. So this out-of-control inflation is due to all that and just terrible administration.”

“Xavier Becerra said we need to increase the production line, bringing in more of these children across the border,” Unanue continued, referring to the Secretary of Health and Human Services. “This is a war on spirit, away from God and a war on our world, our economy.”

Americans can expect to spend an average of $61.17 for a Thanksgiving dinner which includes 10 people, according to the American Farm Bureau. This represents a 4.5% decrease from 2022’s $64.05 for a group of 10 people for Thanksgiving and a 25% increase from 2019.

When asked if he thought people taking Ozempic, an injection that helps with type 2 diabetes and helps people lose weight, had anything to do with people purchasing lower amounts of food for Thanksgiving, Unanue pointed to a mental health problem and how the is no “value” on human life.

“Our kids, they don’t value themselves,” Unanue said. “We don’t value each other. We don’t value life at any point of life, from beginning to end.”
