“The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg insists that Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas floated the possibility of overturning the decision legalizing interracial marriage.

During a segment on Wednesday, Goldberg said, “What the Democrats seem to be running on is also protecting everyone’s rights, regardless, whoever you love or whoever you’re married to if you’re married — I don’t know.”

“But they’re trying to make sure that the rights you are so easily able to give away, we’re trying to hold on and say actually you can’t do that. Especially for a lot of folks who are also married interracially, which is coming up,” she continued.

However, co-host Joy Behar interjected, “Well, Clarence Thomas is not going to move on that one because his wife is white.”

“Well let’s find out. He’s the one who sort of brought it up,” Goldberg insisted.

When Behar asked if he did, Goldberg said, “Yes, he did. Yes, he did.”

Co-host Sunny Hostin noted that Thomas, in his concurring opinion in the decision overturning Roe v. Wade, suggested that rulings on same-sex marriage, same-sex intimacy and contraception should be revisited by the court.

However, she pointed out that Thomas did not bring up Loving v. Virginia which struck down laws banning interracial marriage.

Still, Goldberg insisted, “I’m telling you, when he spoke about all the things that could go, this was one of the things he brought up.”

After coming back from a commercial break, she said, “When we were talking about Loving v. Virginia, this is what Clarence said, he said his concurring opinion is we should reconsider all of the Court’s substantive due process precedents including Griswold, and then he went on to name them.”

“When you say ‘all,’ I think you’re talking about all of them, and you’re not playing,” Goldberg added.

However, Thomas’ concurring opinion did not include Loving in the list of decisions that he believes should be revisited.

Goldberg has previously suggested that Loving could face a challenge, as IJR reported.

“You better hope they don’t come for you, Clarence, and say that you should not be married to your wife who happens to be white,” Goldberg said in June, adding, “You better hope that nobody says well, you know, you’re not in the Constitution, you’re back to being a quarter of a person. Cause that’s not going to work either.”
