As many paid their respects to the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, her personal trainer made it a point to make his tribute to her unique.

Bryant Johnson stood before Ginsburg’s flag-draped casket for a few moments before dropping to the floor and doing a series of three push-ups.

Johnson told the news outlet Law360 in March Ginsburg did not want to stop her in-person workout sessions with him amid the coronavirus pandemic.

He explained they were being safe by wiping down equipment, washing their hands, and keeping their distance from one another.

Johnson also said he was only working with Ginsburg and canceled appointments he had with other clients.

“Everybody’s been shut down. The only reason why I didn’t shut the justice down is because, hey, she ain’t having it,” he said.

Johnson added, “She has that grandfather status to me and if she wants to train, that’s the least that I can do.”

The Supreme Court said in a statement it had set aside “limited private space” to be “used exclusively by the justice. No other justices are using the space, and the employee gym is closed to all users.”

Ginsburg died from complications of metastatic pancreas cancer on Sept. 18 at the age of 87, as IJR previously reported.

She made history when she became the first woman to lie in the U.S. Capitol, as IJR previously reported.

President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump paid their respects on Thursday, but were met with shouts of “vote him out.”

Democratic nominee Joe Biden, his wife Dr. Jill Biden, and Democratic vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris also visited the Capitol to honor Ginsburg on Friday.

The president faces opposition from lawmakers as he tries to push a nomination through to fill Ginsburg’s seat before the upcoming presidential election.
