Fox News’ Geraldo Rivera suggested that the coronavirus vaccine should be named “Trump” to cheer up President Donald Trump after his projected loss in the presidential election.

During a Friday morning appearance on “Fox & Friends,” Rivera said, “I had an idea, with the world so divided and everybody telling him he’s got to give up and time to leave and time to transition and all the rest — why not name the vaccine ‘The Trump’ make it like, ‘Have you gotten your Trump yet?'”

He added, “It would be a nice gesture to him, and years from now it would become just a kind of generic name.”

Rivera imagined people making remarks like, “Have you got your Trump yet?” and “yeah, I got my Trump, I’m fine.”

He continued, “I wish we could honor him in that way because he is definitely the prime architect of this Operation Warp Speed but for him, we’d still be waiting into the grim winter for these amazing, miraculous medical breakthroughs.”

There are a few coronavirus vaccines that imminently set to enter large-scale distribution. The Pfizer vaccine has not used any funds yet as part of Operation Warp Speed, which is the White House’s term for their effort to combat the coronavirus. Pfizer and the company they partnered with, BioNTech, say tests show that their vaccine is 95% effective.

Another company, Moderna, also says their vaccine is 94.5% effective.

The head of Operation Warp Speed, Dr. Moncef Slaoui, recently said during an interview that Trump has never been very active with the operation, saying, “The president has never been very actively involved.”

Slaoui added, “As I’ve said many times, we’ve had no interference one way or the other.” He said that his team has “informed [Trump] from time-to-time.”
