Fox News correspondent Benjamin Hall was injured outside of Kyiv, Ukraine, while covering the conflict there.

In a statement on Monday, Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott said, “Earlier today, our correspondent Benjamin Hall was injured while newsgathering outside of Kyiv in Ukraine. We have a minimal level of details right now, but Ben is hospitalized and our teams on the ground are working to gather additional information as the situation quickly unfolds.”

“The safety of our entire team of journalists in Ukraine and the surrounding regions is our top priority and of the utmost importance. This is a stark reminder for all journalists who are putting their lives on the line every day to deliver the news from a war zone,” she added.

The news of Hall’s injury comes a day after Brent Renaud, an American journalist and filmmaker, was shot and killed in Ukraine by Russian forces.

American journalist Juan Arredondo was traveling with Renaud when he was shot. Arredondo was wounded during the incident.

Renaud is the first foreign journalist to be killed in Ukraine while covering Russia’s invasion. However, Ukrainian camera operator Yevhenii Sakun was reportedly killed earlier this month when Russia shelled Kyiv’s TV tower.

In a statement, the Committee to Protect Journalists reacted to Renaud’s death, “Russian forces in Ukraine must stop all violence against journalists and other civilians at once, and whoever killed Renaud should be held to account.”

The death of Renaud and the wounding of Arredondo and Hall come over two weeks after Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine.

It is estimated that more than 2.8 million people have fled Ukraina amid the conflict.
